Fluconazole Powder

Fluconazole is most popular for use in saltwater systems, but it can be safely used in freshwater tanks as well.

Can be dosed via water column or mixed with foods.

Treatment:

For fungal diseases, dose via water column at 20 mg per gallon. May be repeated for 5 doses max. Ensure there are no dead zones in the water current as this can lead to reinfecting the tank.

For Bryopsis, dose via water column at 20mg per gallon. Ensure no dead zones in the water current.

  • Remove activated carbon or other chemical filtration products during entire treatment
  • Can maintain phosphate removers
  • Turn off skimmer for first 3 days
  • After 14 days, do a 30% water change and begin using activated carbon or other chemical filtration to help remove remnants from the water column.
  • NOTE: May want to consider turning off microalgae refugium as medication can affect some strains, such as Caulerpa

For Green Hair Algae, dose 10 mg per gallon. Often doesn’t need to be repeated unless algae regrowth returns. Again, ensure there are no dead zones in the water column as this can create pockets for algae to survive and flourish.

10 gram will treat approximately 500 – 1,000 gallons depending on which dosing schedule is used
